After completing a distinguished six-year term in the United States Armed Forces, he pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor's in Science with a major in Accounting from the University of Maryland. This educational path was chosen for his profound interest in numbers, serving as a foundation for his later role in guiding a leading boat manufacturer to a successful public offering in 2015. Furthering his professional development, he attained his CPA certification and became a Six Sigma Black Belt, enhancing his ability to optimize various business operations. His career in business accounting started with a role as an Auditor at Deloitte & Touché, eventually leading to significant positions at Lear Corporation and Visteon. His experience at these companies provided him with a deep understanding of the complex cost structures and operational challenges in manufacturing. At Lear, he managed operations across several plants in Missouri, Iowa, Michigan, and Ohio. He later took on the role of Director of Global Operational Excellence at Visteon, overseeing three plants in Mexico, where he successfully transformed a $24 million loss into a $10 million profit within three years. His efforts were recognized with the Shingo Prize for Manufacturing Excellence. In 2011, he joined MasterCraft as COO, where he significantly boosted the company's profitability from $1 million to $42 million over five years, culminating in a public offering. His contributions were acknowledged with an Industry Week's Manufacturing Excellence Award in 2014. He was also instrumental in developing the NXT series, further elevating the company's brand value. In 2016, he transitioned to HCB Yachts, where he has continued to innovate, notably with the introduction of the 65 Estrella, the world's largest center console yacht, in 2019 and the launch of the iKon bass boat brand in 2023. In his personal life, Lucas Shane Chittum is deeply engaged with wrestling. He serves as the USA Wrestling Director and supports various wrestling programs in the USA and Tennessee.
